Maggie Bassler is a printmaker who accomplished her MFA at the Art Academy University in San Francisco in Dec 2018 and she earned her Studio Art BA at Potsdam University in 2012. Maggie is currently working as a commission artist, while also working at a floral shop. Her most recent work being a collaboration to create a piece based off an 16th Century Venetian Postal Order for the Society for Creative Anachronism.
In her undergrad she worked as a teaching assistant for internships in Printmaking and Photography. Maggie also worked as a scene shop assistant for three years, painting and building sets for the theater and opera performances under the instruction of Jeff Reeder. In the fall of 2012 she worked as a scene designer for the play Antigone 5.9.
Maggie grew up in the small town of Keeseville in Northern NY. She is the oldest of three children and the first in her family to achieve her master’s degree. Her works draw inspiration from human emotion and her love of mythology.
