This collection of work emphasizes classical images combined with women in stages of power we don’t normally see.

Each print revolves around three focal points: the female figure, threads of string, and birds. The woman is the keystone of the image, while the string represents the events and people that are connected to her. The birds embody an emotion or character of the woman’s place in power. The crows for an example signify ideas such as death, the knowledge and foresight.

With the lithography process, I am able to achieve a complex variety of mark making with the use of grease crayons and tusche wash. The crayons allow a versatility of marks. This allow me to create both a sense of order and tension. The tusche wash is used to emphasize textures and washed gradients.
